Και δεν είναι μόνο τα ακριβά φάρμακα που λείπουν από τα ράφια των φαρμακείων, αλλά και τα φθηνότερα. Το αποτέλεσμα είναι χιλιάδες πολίτες να ταλαιπωρούνται, καθώς δεν μπορούν να προμηθευτούν την φαρμακευτική αγωγή που πρέπει, ενώ από τη μεριά τους οι ελεγκτικοί μηχανισμοί δηλώνουν είτε αναρμόδιοι, είτε ότι αδυνατούν να ελέγξουν την κίνηση των φαρμάκων προς το εξωτερικό. Με επιτόκιο 4,9%, έναντι 4,82% από την τελευταία φορά, δανείστηκε σήμερα η Ελλάδα από τις αγορές, με τα έντοκα ομόλογα 6μηνης διάρκειας που διέθεσε. Την πρηγούμενη φορά η ζήτηση υπερκάλυψε το αίτημα για δανεισμό κατά 5,15 φορές, ενώ σήμερα κατά 3,4 φορές, αντλώντας συνολικά κεφάλαια 1,95 δισ. ευρώ. Σε αποκλιμάκωση και τα spreads των δεκαετών ομολόγων που έφτασαν τις 879 μονάδες βάσης, από τις 1000+ που είχαν σκαρφαλώσει χθες.-

The more freely information flows, the stronger the society becomes, because then citizens of countries around the world can hold their own governments accountable. They can begin to think for themselves. Censorship should not be in any way accepted by any company from anywhere. And in West, companies need to make a principled stand. This needs to be part of our Graecoroman culture. Consumers worldwide will reward companies that follow those principles.Today's action by Max Mosley at the European Court of Human Rights could have grave consequences for free media. Max Mosley is asking the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg to rule that whenever a publisher intends to publish material that may impact on someone's private life, the person concerned must be notified. If that person wants to prevent publication, they can then apply for an injunction which would force the publisher to engage in litigation if they want to publish it.Such a rule would be disastrous for investigative reporting of all kinds — by the media as well as by NGOs. It would mean that a local paper that has been leaked documents showing corruption in the local council, for example, would be forced to notify those named in the story. The subjects would without doubt take out an injunction, probably on grounds of breach of confidence, and the story could not be published for months — if the newspaper concerned has the funds to litigate at all. If it doesn't, then the story would not see the light of day at all. The story would affect NGOs as well. In a free society, we are supposed to know the truth. In a society where truth becomes treason, however, we are in big trouble. The truth is that our foreign spying, meddling, and outright military intervention in the post-World War II era has made us less secure, not more. And we have lost countless lives and spent trillions of dollars for our trouble. A public figure is by definition exposed to public comment and criticism. Punishing such criticism with imprisonment would be tantamount to introducing censorship and self-censorship. It would be incompatible with democratic principles.Blogger Ricardo Lombana calls the bill retrograde, especially as it would target only insults against public servants: This initiative is unconstitutional. Insulting a public servant is not a crime. It is not defamation. It is just a lack of respect, which cannot be punishable by imprisonment.Blogger Guido Rodriguez asserts this proposal is absurd and would destroy all the progress that has been made as regards freedom of expression. Four bills affecting media rights and freedom of expression are currently before the National Assembly.
